A normal length of a Woman’s Menstrual Cycle is of 28 days, but this varies between individuals. Irregular Period is when the length of the cycle is more than 35 days.
A Period or Menstruation is a part of Menstrual Cycle in which the linings of the uterus is shed, this appears as bleeding from the womb and released through the vagina.
Periods usually starts during Puberty when a girl ages between 10- 16 Years and they continue till when a woman is 45-55 years old.
Symptoms –
A Menstrual Cycle is around 28 days but it can vary from 24 to 35 days depends upon individuals.
The main symptom of irregular period is when a menstruation cycle is longer than 35 days, or it varies in length, Missing three or more periods in a row, Bleeding or spotting between periods.
Cause –
A number of factor increase the chance of Irregular Periods.
Unhealthy Diet And Lifestyle Factor – Losing or Gaining weight can affect your menstrual cycle. Women who lose too much weight or lose weight too quickly may stop having a period, or have irregular periods. If you don’t eat enough carbs, you may experience irregular menstrual cycles or amenorrhea. Amenorrhea is defined as a woman’s menstrual cycle being absent for 3 months or more. The most common cause of amenorrhea is hypothalamic amenorrhea, caused by too few calories, too few carbs.

Stress – Stress and anxiety can also include Hormonal Change which can cause irregular periods. When the stress hormone Cortisol is released by the body, i can have a direct impact on the levels of Oestrogen and Progesterone, which can change the timings of your menstrual cycle.
Excessive Exercise – Even though exercise is generally good for you, the physiologic stress of strenuous exercise can interrupt the balance of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis in some people. The hypothalamus is a structure in your brain that acts as the control center for your menstrual cycle. It sends hormonal messages to your pituitary gland and your ovaries, which in turn trigger ovulation. if this communication gets interrupted as the result of a physiologic stressor, like strenuous exercise or significant weight loss, you will not ovulate. If you do not ovulate, the changes that trigger your menstruation will not happen and you will miss your period.

These condition my be caused by Hormonal Imbalance, although the exact reason is unknown.
